22nd Annual "Taste of Garland" (2011)-pictured above

Garland Crime Stoppers is an organization designed to support the Garland Police Department along with other law enforcement agencies.  The Board's goal is to aid in the suppression of crime and apprehension of lawbreakers.  The Crime Stopper Board is made up of local residents and business people who volunteer their time in an effort to make a safer community.

The Board meets once a month to review ongoing business of the Garland Crime Stopper program along with hearing cases and awarding money on crime related Tips.  Garland's Crime Stopper program pays up to $5,000 for a Tip.

Garland Crime Stoppers also hosts an annual fund raising event; “Taste of Garland”.  Area restaurants participate in the event by showing off their variety of delicious foods.  The annual event continues to be a big hit and is the primary source of monies awarded for Tips each year through the Garland Crime Stoppers program.

Mark your calendars now for 23rd annual "Taste of Garland"
to be held on April 28, 2012 at the GISD Event Center.
