City Secretary

The City Secretary Department's mission is to facilitate, support and enhance the efforts of the City Council to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of their office and the ability of the general public to acquire and access public records and information. 

Minutes are available in PDF format online. CDs or DVDs are available for purchase or can be viewed online

City Code of Ordinances is available online or at the Library.

Additional information on polling locations will be provided in March 2018.

  • January 1 - First day to apply for a ballot by mail
  • January 17 - First day for filing application for place on the ballot
  • February 16 - Last day for filing application for place on the ballot
  • April 23 - First day for early voting by personal appearance
  • May 1 - Last day of regular early voting by personal appearance

  Additional ID Options for Voters

The City of Garland reminds Texans that voters who cannot obtain one of the seven forms of approved photo ID now have additional options when voting in person. See a complete list of acceptable photo ID and supporting documentation on the Elections page.
